Cookies are small files that websites put on your computer hard disk drive, mostly applied to ensure the technical functionality of a website, but also applicable for gathering statistical information about your visit. 

What is the cookie legislation?

The cookie legislation has the purpose of protecting the user against improper gathering of user behaviour knowledge. All Danish websites are obliged to inform which cookies are saved on the user’s hard disk. This information shall comply with the ”Bekendtgørelse om krav til information og samtykke ved lagring af og adgang til oplysninger i slutbrugeres terminaludstyr” (Danish Consolidated Act regarding requirements for information and consent when storing and accessing information on the end user’s terminal equipment), which is part of the EU Opinion on Cookie Consent in electronic communication.
